Illustration Appreciation
The illustrations in Princess Truly I am Brave! are as great as the stories themselves. Since I definitely judge children’s books by their cover when I’m raiding the library shelves, this one caught my eye by showing a black girl camping. Something both of my kids love. They beautifully capture the characters’ emotions and the adventurous spirit of the narratives. Princess Truly’s magical hair puffs are particularly delightful, adding a whimsical touch to the vibrant illustrations. I discovered that Amariah Rauscher, the artist, has an etsy shop where you can check out and purchase her art. Check out Amariah’s art here.
No Spoiler Book Review
Princess Truly I am Brave! is a must-read for young readers. The book comprises three charming stories – ‘Let’s Go Camping,’ ‘Hiccup,’ and ‘A Spooky Story.’ In each tale, Princess Truly and Ty engage in adventures that test their bravery and strengthen their bond. The narrative is engaging, filled with humor and lessons about courage and love. However, what makes this book truly special is its representation, depicting a brave little girl with natural curls as a wonderful princess at play.
